Investigating Atheism - Terms of Use

This Website ('the Website') and its content contain copyright materials and works belonging to the University of Cambridge ('the University') and to third parties from whom the University has made reasonable efforts to obtain full consent to publish their works and materials.

All content in the Website is protected by internationally recognised laws of copyright and intellectual property. Access to and use of the Website is provided subject to the following terms and conditions. If these Terms of Use are not accepted in full, the User does not have permission to access the content of the Website and therefore should cease using the Website immediately.

Definitions

Permitted and prohibited use of materials on the website

Permission is hereby granted to access, download and print a single copy of the Materials for private study and research, provided that such copying is for personal non-commercial purposes only and not for any commercial advantage and that any copyright notice within the Materials appear in any copy of the Materials.

Except as permitted above and use under statutory allowances, the User undertakes not to copy, reproduce, publish, store in any medium (including extraction into any other website, database, compilation, or computer programme), generate collections, distribute, transmit, retransmit, modify, manipulate, alter, rent, lease, or lend or broadcast or show any part of the Website or the Materials without the prior written permission of the University and/or the copyright holder(s) as identified.

The User agrees that s/he will obtain written permission from all appropriate rights owner/s if the User wishes to copy or use material in whole or in part for a direct or indirect commercial purpose.

The User warrants to the University that the User will not infringe the University's intellectual property rights nor will the User breach the intellectual property rights of any third party.

The User may provide hyperlinks to the Website home page without prior written consent from the University. Such hyperlinks must display the home page in the same form as the Website, without amendment or framing.

Trademarks

The trademarks of University and any third party displayed on the Website are the registered and unregistered trademarks of the same. Nothing contained in the Website shall be taken, construed and/or considered as a grant of a licence or right to use the trademarks displayed on the Website without the prior written permission of the owner.

Disclaimer and no Warranty

The Website may contain advice, opinion, statements or other information by various authors or organisations. The University does not represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any such advice, opinion, statement or other information provided by any other person or entity. Reliance upon any such advice, opinion, statement or other information shall also be at the User's risk.

In no event shall the University be liable to any party for any of the following losses or damages (whether such losses be foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise): loss of data, loss of revenue or anticipated profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill or injury to reputation, loss suffered by third parties, any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential loss or damages arising out of the use of the Website or use of the materials in the Website whether or not amended by third parties and regardless of form of action.

The University provides the Materials in the Website "as is" without any representations or any kind of warranty made (whether express or implied by law) to the fullest extent permitted by law, including the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non- infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy.

The limitations and exclusions shall not apply in respect of claims for personal injury or death caused by negligence or in respect of fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Severability

If any of these Terms of Use should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the laws of any country in which these Terms of Use are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within that jurisdiction in which that Term of Use is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms of Use and the remaining Terms of Use shall survive and remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.

Applicability and linked sites

The University reserves the right to change the terms, conditions and notices under which the Website is held. The User is responsible for reviewing these terms and conditions and notices. The User's viewing and/or use of these materials constitute the User's agreement to all such terms, conditions and notices.

The Website may contain links to third party websites ('Linked Sites'). The Linked Sites are not owned or controlled by the University and it is not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site, including without limitation any changes or updates to a Linked Site. The University is not responsible for webcasting or any other transmission received from any Linked Site, nor is the University responsible if the Linked Site is not working properly, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement of any site or any association with its operators. The User is responsible for viewing and abiding by the privacy and copyright notices, and terms and conditions posted at the Linked Sites.

Governing Law

These terms and all questions of construction, interpretation, validity and performance under this Agreement shall be governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
