The site has been designed to be accessible in accordance with the standards promoted by the WC3. Please contact us via the About us page, if there are any further accessibility improvements you would like to see on the site.
This site implements the use of a two level menu system on the left menu. There are thirteen sections in the top level menu.
Selecting any of these links takes you to a new page. Some (but not all) topics have additional topics within the section. These second level links appear under the main link and remain visible when you are on any page in that section.
For some topics, there are third and fourth level pages, which are linked to from the contents box which appears according to context on the right hand side of the page. A "back to ..." link has also been included here, where relevant. All pages include the "breadcrumb trail" with active links, so you can see where you are in the hierarchy of the menu at any time, and also navigate using these links.
The menu at the top of the page is on all pages and includes links to this accessibility page, a Sitemap and a search function.
Users of screen reading software may prefer to use the Sitemap for navigating this website as this will allow easier access to all pages in the site, and contains no tiered menu system.
A tab order has been set to run through the topics across the top menu, then down the left hand menu, picking up any sublinks where they are present. It then runs down to the links in the footer. Access keys have been set up in alphabetical order from a-m for the menus and from 1-6 for top menu and footer features as set out below:
